Starting with the 2003–2004 academic year, Yıldız Technical University implemented a general education program that is gaining widespread adoption worldwide within modern education systems and has been implemented in various forms in our country as well.
The general education program, which was launched under the Rector’s Office in the 2003–2004 academic year and coordinated by the Department of History at YTÜ’s Faculty of Science and Letters, was transferred to the Department of Human and Social Sciences, established in July 2006.
In addition to the Social Elective courses offered to all YTÜ undergraduate students, our department runs graduate-level programs in Philosophy, Sociology, History, and Cultural Studies, both in Turkish and English.
